Frogsborn are planning a trip to the Sea of Cortez in October 2016, this will follow on from the Guadalupe trip on the Nautilus Explorer and is open to those on the Guadalupe trip and anyone who would like to join us in La Paz only.

The Hotel

7 nights in the La Concha Beach Resort in La Paz, this hotel is located a short distance from the picturesque waterfront of downtown La Paz and overlooks the Sea of Cortez.    The standard rooms are en suite, air conditioned, are equipped with a mini fridge and TV.  Twin and double suits are available and a full American breakfast is included.

The Diving

Is with the Cortez Club and includes 5 days diving with 2 dives per day, nitrox is included as well as lunch and drinks on board the dive boat and National Park Permit Fees. The roundtrip to La Paz Airport is included in the cost.


Are based on 2014 prices and includes the above based on twin sharing and the 16% Mexican Sales Tax - $1370.50

Not included are flights (this usually involves 2 flights there and back again), transfers from the Airport if you choose to fly into Los Cabos, hotel upgrades in the La Concha Beach Resort, hotel stays between flights if required or any other extras.

The Dive Sites

Examples include

  • El Bajo Seamounts – Is located 8.2 miles Los Islotes, here three underwater peaks rise form the sea bed and are home to schooling hammerheads, schooling fish, octopus, and the impressive Panamic Green moray.
  • Sea Lion Colony at Los Islotes – half a mile north of Isla Espirito Santo are two large rock islets which are home to over 200 Californian Sea Lions.  These inquisitive marine mammals are known to check out visiting divers showing off their superior swimming techniques and inviting divers to join in their games.
  • Le Reynita – Is a rock pinnacle with passing current in which large schools of fish hang waiting for dinner.  Large groupers, sea fans, brain coral and conger eel gardens are a feature of this site,
  • Swimming with the Whale Sharks – we will have the opportunity to swim with these large fish
